The Qipco Champion Stakes (3.50) has the potential to be the race of the season on Saturday given the cast of middle-distance stars likely to be assembled for Ascot and jockey David Egan could not be happier with the condition of the 7-4 favourite Mishriff.
Egan, who was champion apprentice in 2017, put the four-year-old through his paces on the Limekilns training grounds in Newmarket on Tuesday morning for joint-trainers John and Thady Gosden and said his mount travelled through the exercise with "plenty of ease".
In addition to last year's winner Addeybb, Mishriff is due to take on a raft of three-year-old talent, including Dubai Honour and Sealiway. Derby winner Adayar, who beat Mishriff in the Group 1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July, could also line up.
