Representatives of racing and betting had separate meetings with sports minister Tracey Crouch this week to discuss the latest situation regarding the government's plans for levy replacement.

Following those meetings the Racing Post understands a meeting between racing and the four major retail bookmakers who have yet to sign up to the authorised betting partner policy scheduled for Monday has now been postponed.

Crouch, who has recently returned to work from maternity leave, has remained as sports minister after Theresa May's reshuffle, although there have been a number of other changes at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, including the replacement of John Whittingdale as culture secretary by Karen Bradley.
