Sir Anthony McCoy remains the sole winner of the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year award to come from horseracing but the recipient of the 2010 trophy says Hollie Doyle is deserving of "every accolade she gets".

Doyle's odds of joining McCoy on one of British sport's most exclusive honours boards continued to tumble on Friday, with the 33-1 quoted about her topping Sunday night's live popular vote now a distant memory after she shortened to as low as 5-1.

After a breakthrough year when her skill in the saddle has taken her to new heights, Doyle is one of six nominees chosen by a panel of experts to contest the award and she will be showcased to a primetime BBC 1 audience alongside household names such as Lewis Hamilton, Jordan Henderson and Stuart Broad.
