Foxhunter runner-up Marito, Colin McBratney's stable star, has suffered a fatal injury and was put down on Saturday morning.

The ten-year-old chased home On The Fringe at both Cheltenham and Punchestown, while he completed his campaign by finishing second at Stratford.

A winner in Germany on the Flat and over hurdles in France, he won three chases for Willie Mullins. He moved to McBratney in 2014, winning three point-to-points and a hunter chase at Down Royal last Christmas by 15 lengths.
