Martin to appeal against Pyromaniac ban and his own fine

The Guinness Galway Hurdle is not yet out of the question for Pyromaniac after trainer Tony Martin revealed he will appeal over the 42-day ban imposed on the horse as well as the €2,000 fine he was issued with over his running at Killarney on Tuesday night.

"I will definitely be appealing. I don't really want to say any more on the matter for now, but I will certainly be appealing it," Martin said.

Pyromaniac finished sixth of nine runners in the McSweeney Arms Hotel Qualified Riders Race over a mile and three-quarters under the inexperienced Patrick McGuigan and the stewards took a dim view of the display from both horse and rider.
