Main Fact team set sights on Stayers' after Pipe ace makes it remarkable nine
Nothing is out of the question for rags-to-riches horse Main Fact, who has connections contemplating a bold bid at the staying hurdling crown after taking his winning run to a remarkable nine in the Betfair Exchange Stayers' Handicap Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday.
Main Fact was giving trainer David Pipe a fourth victory in the Grade 3 and his 2010 winner Grands Crus went on to finish second to Big Buck's in that season's World Hurdle as it was known then, while Paisley Park went one better in the 2019 Stayers' Hurdle after his Haydock success.
Paddy Power, who sponsor the championship event at the Cheltenham Festival, make the seven-year-old 25-1 for the race, which is some going considering he was beaten off a mark of 98 in a handicap hurdle at Exeter nearly a year ago.
