Lutine Charlie hits the century at Brighton this evening, a venue at which he showed his light was still burning bright at the age of nine when finishing runner-up last month.

Emma Owen is the sixth trainer to handle the veteran since he made his debut for Peter Winkworth in a two-year-old maiden at Doncaster in 2009, since when he has won eight races.

Lutine Charlie has had no fewer than 48 different jockeys in his time, including champion riders Ryan Moore, Jamie Spencer and Silvestre de Sousa, and has struck up a decent relationship with Tom Queally of late.
