Love rewards large number of stables with big points haul after Oaks triumph
Love was all around on the Tote Ten To Follow leaderboard last week when the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly, who is in 47.8 per cent of stables, landed the Investec Oaks, earning 52.9 points for her triumph at Epsom.
Her Ballydoyle stablemate Serpentine is not in the game, so the bonus points for his stunning Investec Derby success went begging, but 12 people had 66-1 shot Amhran Na Bhfiann, who was third at Epsom for 14.2 points.
Godolphin's Ghaiyyath, who is in 20.6 per cent of teams, was the biggest scorer of the week and he accrued 55.1 points after outpointing star mare Enable in Sandown's Coral-Eclipse. In 40.5 per cent of line-ups, the dual-Arc heroine picked up 13.1 points for her creditable second.
Speak In Colours (in only 0.1 per cent of teams) and Art Power (1.8 per cent) were not popular with gamers, but became the first horses to register two victories in the competition in Ireland over the weekend.
A'Ali is another who did not make many stables – 0.2 per cent in his case – but the 48 people who picked him were rewarded with 29.8 points after his victory in the Coral Charge at Sandown on Sunday.
Summer Romance, Manuela De Vega and Dashing Willoughby are others that have been selected by a small number of players, but picked up healthy points hauls over the weekend.
Royal Ascot aces Golden Horde and Hello Youmzain remain in handy positions on the leaderboard and they could add to the totals at Newmarket in the Darley July Cup on Saturday.
The former, who won the Commonwealth Cup for Clive Cox, is one of the representatives of stable Le Breuil 838, the new outfit at the top of the leaderboard after jumping 12 places following a profitable weekend – one Ghaiyyath and Love delivered significant knocks on.
He is clear of TYOTC35, who will also have Golden Horde on duty this weekend.
