Clerks of the course must have all sorts of high-tech equipment to help them these days, but most still seem to trust an old-fashioned pointed wooden stick rather than anything fancier.

Towcester clerk Robert Bellamy, however, might have to rely on more modern-day tools after his stick went missing following a recent fixture at the track.

In advance of Monday's meeting, Bellamy took the time to post the following request on the BHA's racing administration page.
