Looking ahead to York's Dante meeting and the July festival at Newmarket

Monday

Uttoxeter hosts an interesting nine-race jumps card, featuring the Listed Summer Cup Handicap Chase (3.30). The Young Master and For Good Measure feature among the 12 runners. There is plenty of Flat fare with Ayr hosting an afternoon meeting, while Windsor and Thirsk take over in the evening.

Tuesday

Pontefract stages the Listed Pipalong Stakes (3.20) for fillies and mares, attracting a nine-runner field. John Gosden sends Scentasia, a dual Listed winner on the all-weather last season.

Roscommon also has quality racing, with the Listed Lenebane Stakes (3.30) taking centre stage. Elsewhere, Newton Abbot puts on its first fixture of the season, while Killarney and Leicester hold twilight meetings.

Wednesday

A busy day and one that should keep Flat and jumps fans entertained. Ripon opens the day's racing with the first of eight races off at midday, swiftly followed by Stratford and Bellewstown.

Gowran Park and Newbury host six- and eight-race cards, with the former starting at 4.10.

Thursday

The opening day of the delayed Dante festival at York and July festival at Newmarket.

York's card is topped by the Group 2 Dante Stakes (3.15), won last year by Telecaster, and the exciting Highest Ground heads ten entries for the 1m2f event. The Group 3 Musidora Stakes (2.40) and Listed Marygate Fillies' Stakes (2.05) have also attracted some exciting prospects, Franconia could run in the former while Sardinia Sunset is a possible in the sprint.

Newmarket's eight-race card features the Group 2 Princess of Wales's (4.10), Group 2 July Stakes (3.00) and Group 3 Bahrain Trophy (2.25) on the card. Other races include the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes (1.10) and some intriguing handicaps.

Navan is the sole Irish meeting of the afternoon, while Chepstow takes over for the evening.

Friday

A Friday treat for fans of both codes as Market Rasen and Newmarket host quality action.

The Grade 3 Summer Plate (2.40) is the showpiece contest at Market Rasen, with Bags Groove, San Benedeto and Lough Derg Spirit among the 24 entries.

There is Group 1 action at Newmarket with the Falmouth Stakes (4.10), a race won by the likes of Alpha Centauri and Goldikova in previous years. The juvenile fillies are the focus in the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (2.25), in which Albany winner Dandalla could be the star act.

There is further afternoon action at Musselburgh, while Bath and Kilbeggan take over for the evening.

Saturday

Newmarket takes centre stage with the July Cup (4.10) rounding off an excellent card. The Group 1 event has been won by many top sprinters, including Stravinsky and Oasis Dream, and this year's Commonwealth Cup hero Golden Horde could bid to add his name to the honour roll.

The Group 2 Superlative Stakes and Bunbury Cup are the other highlights on the card, while Ascot's Group 2 Summer Mile Stakes usually attracts some classy milers.

The evening fare comes from Leopardstown, Salisbury and Newcastle.

Sunday

Lingfield and Hamilton host meetings on a quieter day, while the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes is the highlight of Cork's meeting in Ireland.

Bangor is the sole jumps meeting of the day, with the first race starting at 1.10.
