'She has her old zest when I see her' - how Enable is still enchanting Newmarket
The atmosphere in Newmarket is bubbling as Enable's date with destiny in Saturday's Qipco King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes draws nearer, and the whole town is behind John Gosden's wondermare for a clash one prominent trainer described as "Newmarket versus Ireland".
The local trainers have seen plenty of the six-year-old over the years and most are positive about her chances of bagging a historic third King George at the weekend.
Ed Dunlop, famed for his handling of sensational mares Ouija Board and Snow Fairy, said: "Newmarket and the whole of racing are still enchanted by Enable. To be on the cusp of winning three King Georges, which has never been done let alone three Arcs, is remarkable really and she still has her old zest when I see her on Warren Hill most mornings.
