Limato has to work well this week and the weather to be set fair for York next week, otherwise he could have another crack at running over a mile instead of tackling the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.

The July Cup winner has recovered from the bruised foot which held up his training since Newmarket and is back on schedule to run this month after completing his first piece of work.

Owner Paul Jacobs yesterday indicated that the Group 1 sprint, for which Limato would need to be supplemented, remained the more likely target, but he nominated the Doom Bar Celebration Mile at Goodwood as an alternative.
