Tracker horses: the names to note, including a promising William Haggas filly
Welcome to Winners In Waiting, a new weekly round-up of all the horses our expert race-readers have noted as being runners to follow.
Our experienced team watch – and write a descriptive in-running comment for – every horse who runs in Britain and Ireland.
There are three different categories, each relating to a specific in-running comment our race-readers use to denote those who appear most interesting with the future in mind.
Members' Club Ultimate subscribers can add the names of the horses mentioned to their Racing Post Horse Tracker and will then receive email alerts when they are entered or declared again.
On their next start, the horses will be flagged in Signposts, which can be found in the Racing Post newspaper or online as part of Members' Club on raceday, and it's hoped the list will prove a strong source of winners in the months ahead.
Non-members can sign up here to get the tracker, race replays and in-depth race analysis, as well as exclusive content from our team of tipsters and writers.
Did well in the circumstances
Dusky Prince
Fifth, Redcar, May 16
Returning after a 77-day pause, he didn't have much room when needed and it was all too late by the time he got in the clear. He would have gone closer otherwise.
El Bello
Sixth, Wolverhampton, May 19
Was sent off favourite to complete a hat-trick, after a two-month breather, but he started slowly, was hampered more than once on the home bend and didn't get a clear run inside the last furlong, doing well to miss out by only three lengths.
Nuvolari
Fourth, Goodwood, May 20
Was up against it given the way things worked out and wasn't disgraced in the circumstances. A lack of pace led him to be a little keen and he was too far back in a race in which the leaders weren't coming back.
Coco Hill
Third, Lingfield, May 21
Did well for third having missed the break and still looked a bit green. This was her third run and she looks one for nurseries in due course.

Eyecatcher
Roaring Potter
Fifth, Killarney, May 15
Caught the eye of our close-up writer, whose comment reads: 'Towards rear of midfield, towards rear 4 out, headway 2 out, cajoled along and kept on strongly run-in, nearest finish, eyecatcher'. He's not an easy horse to get a handle on but is one to look out for in handicaps.
Reel Prospect
Third, Nottingham, May 17
A half-brother to a few winners up to a mile, was a big eyecatcher, green for pressure but keeping on in fine style to steal third on the line.
Keep Me Happy
Third, Lingfield, May 19
Would have given the winner something to think about had she got any sort of a run when trying to improve from off the pace. Surely her turn is nearing.
Ascending
Sixth, Goodwood, May 20
Making his handicap debut on his seasonal reappearance, faced an impossible task from the back of the field given the way the race panned out. He would have still finished closer, however, had he not run into traffic problems that forced him to switch more than once. He was staying on nicely at the end and can be given another chance.
Alfred Cove
Sixth, Catterick, May 20
A 45,000gns purchase last year, he was always behind after a sluggish start on this debut, but he stuck at it and is a likely improver in due course.
Raydoun
Fifth, Haydock, May 21
Only got in the clear near the finish, running on well but too late. He's handily enough weighted and can do better.

Promising
Holocene
First, Ripon, May 15
A Ulysses filly from a successful family who was well backed to make a winning debut for the in-form William Haggas stable and always looked likely to do so. She took a while to put daylight between herself and the runner-up but was well on top at the finish. There should be plenty more to come.
