The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips for Friday afternoon
BANKER
Dreamweaver (2.10 Haydock)
I tipped this gelded son of Mastercraftsman 13 days ago on his second start in handicap company at Sandown, and I remain gutted that he didn't come out on top. He opened up 5-1 that day before being punted into 11-4 (I wish he was that price again), but was given too much to do from the back of the pack and despite a strong late burst, Dreamweaver lost out by three-quarters of a length. He proved that day that he was well ahead of his handicap mark of 67 and although he has gone up 2lb, he should still have plenty in hand. This is a much weaker affair and anything but a victory would be disappointing.
EYECATCHER
Dark Silver (1.45 Nottingham)
I don't like tipping in novice company, but Ed Walker's son of Dark Angel really caught my eye in a deep-looking novice event at Newbury last time and represents value at around 4-1. Walker, who is striking at 28 per cent (8-29) in the last two weeks, isn't necessarily known for his juveniles, but Dark Silver showed plenty last time out when clearly handling the quicker conditions much better than the soft he encountered on debut. The race, which was won by the highly touted Man Of The Night, looks sure to throw up plenty of future winners and I wouldn't be surprised if Dark Silver was the first.
