Elarqam supplemented for Juddmonte International with 12 confirmed

Elarqam has been supplemented at a cost of £75,000 for the Juddmonte International Stakes by Mark Johnston and features among 12 potential runners for next Wednesday's Group 1 at York.

Crystal Ocean, who finished runner-up to Enable in a thrilling King George, heads the betting and is as short as evens to come out on top, while Queen Anne winner Lord Glitters could step up in trip to tackle the 1m2½f contest.

John Gosden’s talented three-year-old King Of Comedy also features along with Enable, though the trainer has indicated he plans to run the dual Arc winner in the Yorkshire Oaks the following day.

Circus Maximus, who defeated King Of Comedy by a neck to win the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, is one of four possible contenders for Aidan O’Brien along with Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck, Magical and Japan.

Regal Reality, Cheval Grand and Thundering Blue complete the list of confirmations.

Further appeal has been added to the Juddmonte International, with the winner offered the chance to run in the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 26 and secure an additional A$2 million (£1.12m), on top of the A$3m (£1.68m) already on offer for the Australian Group 1.

O’Brien is responsible for six of the 11 remaining in the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes, with his team headed by Broome and Constantinople.

Bangkok could bid to bounce back to form for Andrew Balding, while Gosden’s Logician has an unbeaten record but will be taking a big step up in class.
