Lambourn trainer Daniel Kubler has claimed the £250 compensation offered to connections of runners who made a wasted trip to Yarmouth on Tuesday fell well short of covering costs, as he questioned the handling of the situation.

Kubler was due to run Outrage in the concluding 5f handicap when the discovery of a wet patch of ground at the four-and-a-half-furlong pole led to the race being abandoned.

Both the racecourse and the BHA on Wednesday appeared to have accepted that the problem was caused by an irrigation system from an adjacent golf course, as the second day of Yarmouth's three-day fixture went ahead after an inspection, though with the five-furlong course still out of action.
