King pinning hopes on exciting Rockerfeller as he aims to build on summer haul

Neil King, trainer of the much-loved Lil Rockerfeller, hosted his annual open day on Sunday, when he spoke of his desire once again to hit the heights that helped him to a personal-best 34 winners in the 2015-16 campaign.

King, who welcomed around 200 visitors to his yard close to Alan King's Barbury Castle base, is optimistic of a fruitful haul when the core jumps period begins and has been buoyed by the ten winners he has saddled since May.

"We're trying to work back to where we were and who in their right mind wouldn't be?" King said. "We moved here four years ago and had those winners, but then we got hit by a virus the following year and, of course, numbers dropped in terms of winners and horses.
