Horse Racing Ireland boss Brian Kavanagh hopes racing will "be at the front of the queue" for proposed pilot events for music and sports later this summer.

On Thursday, Taoiseach Micheal Martin announced plans for the easing of restrictions in Ireland from May 10.

Non-essential retail will open on May 17, meaning bookmakers will be permitted to reopen on that date.
