John Magnier has called on the sport's competing factions to come together and accept difficult decisions as he made a rare but significant intervention into racing politics.

The Coolmore supremo, one of the most powerful and influential figures in global racing and bloodstock, argued that when policies are set by "the powers that be", participants and stakeholders must "go with it".

Magnier was speaking in an interview with ITV Racing anchor Ed Chamberlin broadcast during Thursday's 25th Peter O'Sullevan Annual Award Lunch, at which the owner-breeder was honoured as the latest recipient of the award that bears the name of the legendary BBC broadcaster, who died seven years ago.
