Jockey Goode fails in bid to sue fellow rider over catastrophic fall

A formerly British-based jockey has failed in his bid to win compensation from a fellow rider for a fall in Australia that left him in a wheelchair for life.

Paul Goode, 38, who suffered life-changing injuries in an incident at Queanbeyan, New South Wales in June 2009, tried to sue jockey Tye Angland for negligence.

In Goode's view his mount, Shot Of The Rails, came down when Angland steered Port Gallery in towards the fence to cover a gap he was aiming for and subsequently clipped heels.
