Jockey Club Racecourses regional director and former Huntingdon boss Amy Starkey said on Tuesday she was distraught about the fire that destroyed four hospitality boxes at the Cambridgeshire track the day before.

Around 25 fire fighters from Cambridgeshire fire and rescue service took about two hours to tackle the blaze, which started on the second floor of the Goodler stand.

The facility, which is older than the neighbouring Cromwell stand, had older-style wooden hospitality boxes through which the fire spread quickly.
