Jockey Club begins hunt to secure new Derby sponsor after Cazoo involvement ends

The Jockey Club has been left needing to find a new sponsor for the Derby just 16 months after ending its previous search following Cazoo's decision not to continue its association with British Flat racing's most coveted prize.

Although it was only unveiled as headline backer of Epsom's Derby festival in April last year, Cazoo will no longer be involved with either the Derby or the Oaks after experiencing serious commercial setbacks in recent months.

The online car retailer will continue to give its name to other races at Jockey Club venues as part of a separate arrangement, while it will also sponsor the St Leger for the second time next month.
