Christmas has come early for Epsom trainer Jim Boyle and his family after their much-loved dog Jazz was found safe and well having gone missing on Friday.

Boyle tweeted details about his missing canine friend over the weekend and offered a reward for any information leading to the 16-year-old Border Terrier's whereabouts.

Hope was fading for the family as the hours passed but worry turned to joy on Monday as Jazz was discovered safe and sound nearby.

Symonds delighted after missing dogs are found

Boyle said: "We went to my mother in law's on Friday evening and when we returned Jazz had disappeared.

"We'd been searching and searching for two and a half days and it got to the point where we were starting to give up hope.

"Thankfully we found her today and it feels like a miracle.

"She had protected herself between a house and a hedge up the road. It was fairly sheltered and she has somehow managed to survive the bad weather over the weekend.

"She's very old and must have become disorientated. We're just so delighted to have found her safe and well – it's made our Christmas."
