Jane Chapple-Hyam hoping for something 'very special' from Saffron Beach
Jane Chapple-Hyam says it will be "a very special occasion" if stable star Saffron Beach is able to win the Group 1 Royal Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday for the second year in a row.
The four-year-old gave her trainer a first success at the highest level 12 months ago when getting the better of Mother Earth and is a best-priced 15-8 with bet365 to record back-to-back victories under William Buick.
Chapple-Hyam said: “Last year was very special as it was on our local track and a year on we are going back to try to win it back to back. We did a similar thing with Mull Of Killough, who won the Earl of Sefton back to back in 2013 and 2014, and if we can do it with Saffron Beach it would be a very special occasion.”
