James Doyle gets a first feel of Mishriff on a morning of Goodwood clues

Mishriff moving well

James Doyle was at John and Thady Gosden's Clarehaven Stables before 5am on Wednesday for a first sit on Mishriff before their assignment together in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday (3.35).

Doyle, who could also get the call up if the five-year-old bids to defend the Juddmonte International next month, steered his intended mount through a solo exercise over six furlongs on the Al Bahathri Polytrack which could not have gone any better.

Goodwood-bound fillies

As well as Baaeed, William Haggas used the July course on Tuesday morning for fellow Goodwood entries Sacred (Ted Durcan) and Lilac Road (Cieren Fallon), who preceded their more illustrious stablemate over six furlongs, finishing upsides.
