Jack Kennedy staying positive and predicting bold Gold Cup show from Delta Work

Jack Kennedy was focusing on the positives on Wednesday despite the devastating blow of being ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival after breaking his leg for a fourth time at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The 20-year-old is aiming to be back in time for the Punchestown festival in late April and believes he was actually lucky on Sunday, stressing that had his horror fall arrived an hour earlier he would not have won the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup for the first time on Delta Work.

Kennedy is back home and in good spirits after the operation on his broken right femur was successful at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin on Monday. The Cheltenham Festival will come too soon for Gordon Elliott’s stable jockey but he is optimistic that Punchestown could be manageable.
