ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the six races on ITV on Saturday
1.45 Cheltenham
From The Horses Mouth Podcast Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2), 2m
Pentland Hills makes his second start over fences after his walkover at Huntingdon, while festival winner Banbridge and Tommy's Oscar are among the classy opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Banbridge
Progressive novice hurdler last season, the highlight being his success in the Martin Pipe. He recorded an easy win over 2m4f at Gowran on his switch to chasing, has won at 2m and should be a major player back down in distance with plenty to offer over fences.
Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap), 2m4f
French Dynamite has been well fancied for this since his winning return and bids to end Ireland's poor record in the race. Ga Law made a fine return when third in the Old Roan Chase, while Stolen Silver was an easy winner at the track in April. Cheltenham stalwart and 2020 winner Coole Cody bids to enhance his top course record.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Stolen Silver
Had form figures of 241 at Cheltenham last season, namely when a close second over two miles at this meeting, a creditable fourth in the Plate and when winning a Grade 2 handicap. He's open to further progress and should cope with a 7lb rise for an in-form trainer.
Bet UK Golden Rose Stakes (Listed), 6f
Summerghand was in fine form yet again during the turf season, winning the Ayr Gold Cup, and returns to a track he likes alongside another northern stalwart in Judicial. Irish trainers have a strong hand in this, however, with Logo Hunter and Harry's Bar.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Judicial
Admirable veteran who will be running in this race for the fourth year in a row. He won it in 2019 and chased home the smart Good Effort last year. He's better drawn this time than in any of the previous three years and showed his well-being with a Beverley win last time.
Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle, 3m
Exciting prospect Shearer has been in fine form in two starts this campaign, winning easily at Worcester before a course-and-distance success in October, and steps back into handicap company. Annual Invictus returns to hurdles following a poor run over fences last time, while 2020 winner On The Blind Side attempts to regain his crown.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Fontana Ellissi
Solid sequence over two miles between February and March but also won a 2m5f novice contest in 2021 and passed plenty of his rivals late on when second of 13 runners over 2m4f three weeks ago. He's 4lb higher today but this new trip looks interesting.
Bet UK Churchill Stakes (Listed), 1m2f
One-time leading Derby hope and top-level winner Bolshoi Ballet makes his belated first start of the year after a 335-day absence for Aidan O'Brien. He faces impressive Royal Ascot winner Missed The Cut, while John and Thady Gosden have a strong hand with Harrovian and Forest Of Dean.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Harrovian
Runner-up in both outings over course and distance, including when running Pyledriver close in this last year. His three starts this term have been a contrast, with his third of 15 in a Listed contest at Royal Ascot in June standing out. He's definitely a player on his best form.
Paddy Power Feel Like A Favourite Intermediate Handicap Hurdle, 2m5f
Wiseguy has already taken some notable scalps in his three-race career and steps into handicap company following his latest win at Doncaster last December, with trainer Nicky Henderson also represented by Time Flies By. Unanswered returned to his best form last time and forms a strong Irish challenge alongside the Colm Murphy-trained Elle Perfecta.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Unanswered
None of his five races over hurdles were beyond 2m1f. He impressed in the end off a lowly mark at Punchestown in May, which followed two Flat wins. He's raised his game in that sphere over 1m6f and 2m this season. His recent Flat run came after three months off and it would be no surprise if he still has plenty more to give. He's very interesting stepped up in trip back running in handicap hurdles.
