ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the four races on ITV4 on Friday
1.45 Cheltenham
Mucking Brilliant Paddy Power Handicap Chase, 2m
The Glancing Queen heads the market for this 2m contest with ample course form to warrant a strong claim against the well-fancied Amarillo Sky. Sam Thomas saddles Grey Diamond, who bids for another big handicap success for Dai Walters following Al Dancer's Grand Sefton success last week.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GREY DIAMOND
Better than result several times over fences; goes well fresh; big player
2.20 Cheltenham
SSS Super Alloys Novices' Limited Handicap Chase, 2m4f
With an illustrious roll call of previous winners, this contest has been switched to a handicap and offers up a competitive renewal. The leading Irish challenge comes from the hat-trick-seeking Hereditary Rule, but the Chris Gordon-trained Unanswered Prayers was consistent last season and Pull Again Green for Fergal O'Brien has the advantage of a recent run over course and distance.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HEREDITARY RULE
3-6 over fences, most recently slamming three rivals at Cartmel; probably the one to beat
Glenfarclas Veterans' Handicap Chase, 2m4f
This veterans' chase replaces the traditional cross country contest and brings a host of old favourites to the meeting. Ballyandy should come on for his pipe-opener at Perth in September and looks the class horse, but Kauto Riko and Magic Dancer are likely to be dangerous on their seasonal debuts.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MAGIC DANCER
Strong form at Ludlow when last seen; scored over hurdles on this card in 2017; respected
Ballymore Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m5f
Paul Nicholls has started the season at a relentless pace and is a force to be reckoned with in this feature Grade 2 contest. He saddles Hermes Allen with the equally red-hot Harry Cobden taking the ride. Nigel Twiston-Davies unleashes the progressive Weveallbeencaught, while the Willie Mullins-trained Hubrisko should not be ignored.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HERMES ALLEN
Bought for £350,000 after Irish point win; impressive at Stratford for new yard; respected
