Trainers and jockeys who have thrived at Southwell's unique all-weather track over the years have delivered a mixed response to plans to change the surface to Tapeta next year.

All-weather champion trainer Mick Appleby, behind only David Barron and Mark Johnston with 195 winners at Southwell, has criticised the switch to Tapeta, while Scott Dixon joined John Gosden and Mark Johnston in giving his approval for converting Britain's only Fibresand course.
