Juddmonte are set to have a strong hand in next year's Classics but Nostrum could be the standout horse for 2023 according to the operation's racing manager Barry Mahon.

The famous silks were carried to success in the Dewhurst Stakes by the Andrew Balding-trained Chaldean but it is the third-placed runner, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and 12-1 for the 2,000 Guineas, who Mahon highlighted as having significant scope to improve as a three-year-old.

Mahon said: "I think the two Dewhurst horses are going to be particularly interesting next year. Chaldean has worked his way through the grades and is a tough, hardy horse who loves a fight.
