In the first of our series on the Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards, 2015 Employee of the Year Gemma Hogg reflects on her success and the challenges of the job

What makes for good stable staff?
People with a love for the horses, a desire to learn and also people who have a nice demeanour. People who are pleasant, happy and bubbly get on better I think, in any walk of life.

How important are these awards?
Massively important. Godolphin have thought outside the box and it makes people feel important and valued. When I went to the awards they made you feel like royalty from the moment you got there and that's very special.
