'It felt too soon' - upset owner questions racing's naming policy

Days after the great Golden Cygnet's namesake made her debut in a Newbury maiden, the owner of 2006 Portland Handicap winner Fantasy Believer has queried racing's naming policy.

Ann Minson, who formed part of ownership group The Fantasy Fellowship, raised concerns after spotting Fantasy Believer in the entries for Newbury on Saturday, discovering that the name she cherished had been given to a Charlie Hills-trained two-year-old.

Minson raised questions about the length of time that needs to pass before names again become eligible for use.
