Is it time for players to roll with Tiger as a transfer window super substitute?

Get Tiger Roll in, or leave him out? It is a significant call for all Tote Ten to Follow players during the week-long transfer window.

Gordon Elliott’s dual-Grand National-winning star is in just seven per cent of stables and you can be sure that figure will have risen significantly when the window closes for substitutions next Monday, March 9 at 5pm.

Having raced just once, unplaced, since the Ten To Follow started, that supportive seven per cent have had no cause to celebrate thus far, but Tiger Roll seemed in good heart when making his eventual reappearance in the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan in mid-February.

Even though he did not win, a feat he managed in fine style last year en route to Cheltenham and Aintree glory, he demonstrated his wellbeing and there are confident noises coming from his team.

A clear favourite for the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham next Wednesday, he could secure some easy Ten To Follow points there, although not much in the way of enhanced points for a high Tote dividend. That would set him up to become one of the shortest-priced favourites ever for the Grand National, which carries 25 bonus points.
