Next year's BoyleSports Irish Grand National will be the most valuable jumps race ever run in Ireland after a massive increase in prize-money to €500,000 was announced on Tuesday.

That represents a near-doubling of the prize fund and makes the 3m5f handicap chase the third most valuable prize in British and Irish jump racing, behind only the Aintree Grand National and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Last season's Irish National, won by Mouse Morris’s Rogue Angel, was worth €275,000, but next year’s winner alone will earn that amount.
