A self-proclaimed point-to-point man, Gordon Elliott believes the Irish pointing scene is the way forward in his quest to find a horse capable of one day filling the rather big boots of Don Cossack.

“If you want a Gold Cup winner, point-to-pointing is the only way to go," said Elliott.

"We have about 25 to 30 three-year-olds here who are owned by Gigginstown, as well as others. Some will try to win a bumper and the rest will go for a four-year-old point-to-point."
