The last time Gordon Elliott was vocal about one of his horses, he was on the receiving end of a “bollocking” from Gigginstown supremo Michael O’Leary – although it was none other than his reigning Gold Cup hero Don Cossack that had prompted the trainer to wax lyrical.

Elliott is not one to talk up his horses, but such is the abundance of talent at Cullentra that he can be forgiven for again failing to bite his lip – especially when it comes to the chasing ranks.

“I'd say this is the best team of horses I've ever trained and I count myself very lucky,” said Elliott.
