'I have so many fond memories of Barry riding big winners for us'
The trainer of Moscow Flyer talks about the man who delivered on the big stage
Barry and I go way back. I gave Barry his first winner in England when Miss Orchestra won the Midlands National at Uttoxeter in 1998, and little did we know then what great days were in store for us after that.
We have come a long way together and I suppose you could say Barry was very good to me and I was probably very good to him as well. It was two-way traffic and it worked very well.
It is hard to single out one moment over any other as there are so many great memories that stick out, but of the ones most special to me, Moscow Flyer regaining his Champion Chase crown in 2005 has to be right up there. That was a very special day and Barry, like he did throughout his career, came alive on the big day and was faultless in the saddle.
