Conditions on the fifth day of the Galway festival are expected to be a shade more testing than they were yesterday, according to clerk of the course Lorcan Wyer.

He described the going as good to yielding on the jumps track and yielding to soft on the Flat course yesterday, and reckons racegoers should enjoy a largely dry day this afternoon.

Wyer said: "It should be mainly dry with the odd shower, but it looks like the bulk of the rain is behind us.
