Wide trip pays as 40-1 Think It Over earns Group 1 glory at Randwick
Saturday: Royal Randwick
Nash Rawiller found fresh ground on a bottomless heavy track at Randwick, enabling recognised dry-tracker Think It Over to cause a 40-1 upset in the A$4 million Group 1 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Rawiller's courageous decision to rush towards the outside rail after passing the 400-metre [two furlong] mark aboard Think It Over was rewarded as they overhauled pacemaker Zaaki to win by half a length, with favourite Verry Elleegant only fifth and Godolphin's star three-year-old Anamoe eased down to finish last in the nine-horse contest.
The 60-1 chance Mount Popa ran third while the 80-1 outsider of the field Dalasan was fourth, ensuring the First Four dividend on SuperTAB returned in excess of A$40,000.

"I trotted down the outside fence going to the barriers on one of them earlier in the day and thought 'I'll keep this up my sleeve for later'," Rawiller said.
"Even coming down the side there I was sitting off the fence, we just tried to keep him in clear ground.
"I thought he was going to run a good second, but when he hit that fresh patch of grass, away he went."
There was a sting in the tail for Rawiller who was fined A$40,000 and suspended for two weeks for his use of the whip.
Winning trainer Kerry Parker celebrated his third Group 1 winner in the past four years as Dark Dream won the 2018 Queensland Derby and Think It Over opened his top-level account in last year's George Ryder Stakes.
Earlier on the card British-born Rachel King guided Knights Order to an all-the-way success in the Sydney Cup, with the son of So You Think becoming the first horse to double up from the Brisbane Cup since Just A Dancer in 1991.
The Queen's Chalk Stream finished 14th in the A$2m Group 1 handicap.
