Tiz The Law favourite for rescheduled Kentucky Derby after runaway win
Tiz The Law showcased his Kentucky Derby claims with an emphatic success in the Florida Derby behind closed doors on Saturday night.
Six horses have won both races since the turn of the century – and that would have been seven had Maximum Security not been disqualified from first place at Churchill Downs last year.
After beating Shivaree by four and a half lengths at Gulfsteam Park, Tiz The Law was made the 5-1 favourite by many firms for the Kentucky Derby, which has been rescheduled from May to September 5 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

The three-year-old is owned by Sackatoga Stable and its 32 partners viewed his dominant performance from different parts of the world.
Speaking to Bloodhorse, Jack Knowlton, who runs the partnership that won the 2003 Kentucky Derby with Funny Cide, said: "He's special. We're going to enjoy this, and if he stays healthy and things continue to work out well, this is going to be a fun year for us."
Tiz The Law, whose only defeat came at Churchill Downs last November, stretched clear on the straight under Manuel Franco.
"He's got that aplomb about him," trainer Barclay Tagg said. "Whatever you ask him to do, he does. You see how easy he runs."
