Romance displays beautiful attitude to grind out victory in feature
Godolphin’s Beautiful Romance, under a positive ride from Oisin Murphy, landed a quality renewal of the Group 3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy.
Winner of the Group 2 Zipping Classic in Australia on her previous outing, the Saeed bin Suroor-trained mare was sent for home over three furlongs out and opened up a significant lead.
She quickened away from last year’s winner, the David Simcock-trained Sheikhzayedroad, who plugged on grimly to take third, but it was left to Christophe Soumillon and Vazirabad to throw down the last challenge.
