Roly Poly eased in betting after being drawn widest of all in Mile
Aidan O'Brien's Longines Hong Kong Mile representatives Roly Poly and Lancaster Bomber will have to overcome wide draws on Sunday after being allotted stalls 14 and 11.
Roly Poly, a triple Group 1 winner this season, has been pushed out to a top price of 12-1 (from 11-1) by bet365 on the back of Thursday's draw.
Globetrotting superstar Highland Reel will break from stall eight in the 12-runner Longines Hong Kong Vase, while his Breeders' Cup Turf conqueror Talismanic has been drawn on the inside in stall one.
Japanese St Leger winner Kiseki, in stall three, must pass a check on Saturday after it emerged on Monday that he had shown signs of ringworm. However, Tony Kelly, the executive director of racing business and operations at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, said that the expectation is that he will run.
The Europeans suffered mixed fortunes in the Longines Hong Kong Cup, with Poet's Word, the most fancied of the raiding party according to the betting, drawn widest of all in stall 12. Sir Michael Stoute's contender was pushed out to 13-2 (from 11-2) with bet365.
However, trainer Andrew Balding expressed his satisfaction with stall ten for Blond Me, who came from behind when winning the Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes last time. He said: "I'm happy with that. Given her style of running it's better to be wider rather than drawn lower."
In the Longines Hong Kong Sprint, likely favourite Mr Stunning has been drawn in stall four, with main market rival Lucky Bubbles on the inside in number one.
