Old favourite Cirrus Des Aigles looks a picture at Chantilly
Cirrus Des Aigles was the star attraction at the latest racehorse retraining charity day at Chantilly on Sunday, the third organised by Au Dela Des Pistes.
Racegoers were treated to demonstrations of polo, showjumping and dressage performed by thoroughbreds who have undergone retraining since the end of their days on the track.
Cirrus Des Aigles, who won seven Group 1 races in a seven-year racing career, now spends his retirement at the home of jockey Christophe Soumillon.
He led the parade of former champions – ridden by his faithful partner from seven seasons in training with Corine Barande-Barbe, groom Zoe Gargoulaud – and then spent much of the afternoon set up in a special selfie booth to have his picture taken with members of the public.
