Melbourne Cup verdict: 20-1 last-time-out winner can upset the favourite
Does Incentivise just win? That is essentially what this year’s Melbourne Cup is all about. And, in all the years that I’ve assessed the Melbourne Cup, never has one horse just looked such a logical selection.
He already looks a superstar, but he could take his reputation into another stratosphere entirely with victory on Tuesday.
However, I’ve never been one to go chips-in on the favourite, especially when they are this short. The head says he overcomes every obstacle in his way, but the heart leads me in another direction. And so, at the price, I’m going to go with my heart, as that is the only way that I am going to find one to oppose Incentivise.
