McPeek snaps up Peslier for Darling's Epsom mission
US trainer Kenny McPeek has booked French jockey Olivier Peslier to ride Daddys Lil Darling in the Investec Oaks.
Speaking on Thursday in Washington, where he was attending the Pan American Racing Conference, McPeek said: "Julian Leparoux rode her when she was second in the Kentucky Oaks, but he's not familiar with Epsom, so Olivier Peslier is going to ride, and he'll go from France to Epsom about a week out to get to know her.
"The course is extremely tricky, uphill and downhill, and to bring a US jockey who's not been there before wouldn't have been right. It was a no-brainer to bring in Olivier. I don't want a jockey who's never been there."
Daddys Lil Darling is priced between 25-1 and 40-1 for the Oaks on June 2.
