Louisa Carberry in dreamland as Docteur De Ballon sprints to rare double

The number of chasers who can really sprint at the end of a gruelling 3m3½f is very small, yet that is exactly how Docteur De Ballon claimed the Grade 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin at Auteuil for trainer Louisa Carberry.
In doing so he became the 11th horse to double up in the same season with the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris.
Unlike his ten predecessors, Docteur De Ballon had six weeks rather than five and a half months in which to scale the twin heights of the French jump racing year.
