Hannon's Star Terms could return to Longchamp after Minerve second
Prix Minerve (Group 3) | Deauville |3yo fillies | 1m4½f
Star Terms came out just on the wrong side of a head-bobbing verdict with the Andre Fabre-trained Tamniah, a rare 20-1 winner for the champion trainer.
Richard Hannon has sent the Barnett family's homebred daughter of Sea The Stars three times to France and she has put in a big performance on every occasion.
"They went a good pace into the first bend and then the brakes went on and she got trapped," said racing manager Will Edmeades. "We can't complain and I think it was more of a case of better the devil you know rather than taking on her elders in the Prix de Pomone.
"It sounds stupid but she'll be entered in the Prix Vermeille and they'll go a pace around there, while she loves the track. That will then be it for her."
Prince Faisal's representative reported that Tamniah had a holdup during the spring but that Fabre has always loved the filly, with the Prix Vermeille and newly promoted Prix de Royaumont potential targets for the daughter of Nathaniel.
Fabre was also back in the winner's enclosure after the Prix Nureyev with Al Shaqab's Alwaab, while Antoine de Watrigant dented a couple of big reputations when Happy Bere scored in the Prix Francois Boutin.
