Fahey has Musidora option for Melesina after Listed success
Cloth Of Stars makes a winning return to action in Prix Exbury
Melesina showed her liking for France when making all under Alexis Badel to add victory in the Listed Prix La Camargo to last season's Group 3 success in the Prix Les Reservoirs.
Carrying the colours of Nick Bradley Racing, the daughter of Dark Angel had been kept busy with starts in the UAE versions of the 1,000 Guineas and the Oaks and trainer Richard Fahey is now planning to step Melesina back up in trip.
"She's very tough and genuine, very easy to train," said Fahey. "We didn’t put her in any of the Guineas because we didn’t think she’d be quick enough, although on soft ground she probably would be [okay].
"I’ll look at the Musidora at York over a mile and a quarter, or there's the Chester Race as well."
The Charlie Appleby-trained Grecian Light made a decent comeback in third and there was even better to come for Godolphin when Cloth Of Stars – who finished eighth to Harzand in last season's Derby – proved a class above his rivals in the Group 3 Prix Exbury over 1m2f.
Absent since finishing third in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris last July, Cloth Of Stars was conceding weight all round but swept past his rivals under Mickael Barzalona.
"He's a good horse and he's developed well over the winter," said Godolphin's Lisa-Jane Graffard. "He retains his class and there are several options open to him. He could take in the Ganay or else run abroad.
"Rather than the distance, the most important thing for him is he needs a good pace to run at."
Cloth Of Stars' trainer Andre Fabre also has plenty to look forward to with Lady Frankel, winner of the opening fillies' maiden and a half-sister to his dual Classic winner Lope De Vega.
