Disappearing act: jockey Alberto Burgos goes missing mid-race at Gulfstream
A Question of Sport's 'what happened next' round often highlights the unusual and sometimes downright strange moments that can occur in sport.
Another potential clip could be making its way on to a future show after the events that transpired at Gulfstream Park West on Friday.
Old News was bowling along merrily in front for the mile turf claimer, race eight on the card, but after negotiating the first bend, the race took a turn for the bizarre.
The camera tracking the action briefly had an obscured view as the field passed in front of some trees, and when the runners were visible again, Old News was riderless.
As the commentator remarked: "That's new news, I don't know exactly what took place."
Jockey Alberto Burgos had fortunately not crossed into another dimension and was unscathed. To watch the incident, tune in from 17 minutes and 40 seconds on the video below.
