Dettori and Atzeni in action on Classic card
Premio Parioli Sisal Matchpoint (Group 3) | 1m | 3yo colts
Frankie Dettori returns to Italy for two rides, headed by unbeaten Patriot Hero (Endo Botti) in the local version of the 2,000 Guineas.
Winner of a Firenze maiden on his sole start last year, he routed the fancied Stefano Botti runners – Biz Power (Silvano Mulas) and Sun Devil (Andrea Atzeni) – last month.
That performance entitles Patriot Hero to be sent off favourite to give Dettori a first win in a race, which his father Gianfranco was last successful in 1989 on the John Dunlop-trained Sikeston.
Atzeni won this race 12 months ago on Poetta Diletto, and Sun Devil is certainly capable of being involved in the business end.
He is one of five Stefano Botti-trained horses in the field of nine, with Together Again (Fabio Branca) the most likely to give the champion trainer a third successive win in the race. He was a five-length winner of a trial over this mile three weeks ago.

Dettori partners the maiden Fataliste (Endo Botti) in the local 1,000 Guineas, a prize he has bagged once, on Nicole Pharly in 1997.
The filly entered many notebooks when runner-up on the second of her two starts, beating all bar the useful Candy Store (Stefano Botti/Cristian Demuro) in a course-and-distance trial last month.
Fifteen contest an open-looking race, including seven in the care of Stefano Botti, one of which is the Atzeni-ridden Into The Lane, who has won her last two races in the style of a progressive filly.
Sopran Verne is another who is going the right way, winning her last two starts, the latest in a 6f trial at this track. Her form is solid but she has stamina to prove.
